Using a variety of land resources optimal allocation theory and adopting the method combining the qualitative and quantitative research, the principles, contents as well as the indicators and their weights for optimal allocation of the land resources in Baotou municipality are determined. Based on a study of the current situation, characteristics as well as the ex-isting problems in the utilization of the land resources in Baotou municipality and the practical situation of Baotou munici-pality, an optimal land resource allocation scheme is proposed.
