语用学研究动态话语意义，所以在社会及公共话语研究中它的涉及面最多、最广。本文第一部分回顾当代语用学学科范围的发展和变化；第二部分介绍这门学科与语言学其他学科之间的界面研究，并就语法-语用界面举例说明形式与意义、结构与功能的相互关系。文章最后部分从语用学的角度观察和思考某些与社会及公共话语有关的语言现象，特别提到语言模因的研究与中国英语的现状。本文谈论的内容体现了当代语用学具有宽广而实用的研究领域和富有启发意义的研究路向。研究语用学与其他学科之间界面的界面语用学能促进交叉学科的形成，使当代语用学大大拓宽了自身的研究领域。这是当代语用学得以迅猛发展，并且吸引学者们走上这个领域的重要原因。

The study of social and public discourse covers a broad field of discourse in society and in culture. Pragmatics explores the dynamic discourse meaning;it is of great and much concern to the study of social and public discourse. This paper devotes its ifrst part to a general review of the changes and the development of the present-day pragmatics. The second part of the paper introduces the interface study between pragmatics and other branches of linguistics, and takes a grammar-pragmatics interface as an example to show its relations between form and meaning, structure and function. The last part of the paper observes and discusses some linguistic phenomena from the pragmatic point of view, such as the spread of linguistic memes, the practice of Chinese English in social context. What this paper describes is about the broad and practical ifeld as well as the instructive research perspective that the present-day pragmatics obtains. The study of interface pragmatics helps to set up interdisciplinary ifelds, and broaden the field of pragmatics itself. That is why the present-day pragmatics develops so swiftly, and there are so many scholars who would dedicate themselves to this subject of study.
