In this paper, influencing factors of open magnetic circuit measurement results as well as their regulation methods were illustrated. Influence of magnetic hysteretic effect on measurement results was investigated in detail. It is found that the result of intrinsic coercivity HcJ of the NdFeB sample by pulsed field magnetometer is larger than its true value, resulting from magnetic hysteretic effect. In addition, the reports of international comparison for open magnetic circuit measurement methods are quoted. It is also found that the vibrating sample magnetometer is not suitable for B-H curve measurement of isotropic sphere sample composed of permanent magnetic ferrite powder, because of local effective demagnetization field in the sample.
