The new designed ship shaft power measuring method, called telemetry strain-gage method, as well as its design principle and measuring means are introduced in detailed. Moreover, the factors which can influence the measuring accuracy are analyzed. Onboard application shows that this measuring system features high reliability and accuracy, and is applicable in the measurement of actual ship shaft power.
