螳螂拳,属于象形拳的一种,因模仿螳螂捕蝉的戏纵擒打动作而得名。六合螳螂拳（又称马猴螳螂拳）,即心与意合,意与气合,气与力合,称为内三合;肩与胯、肘与膝、手与足称为外三合,内外结合称为＂六合＂。六合螳螂拳一种以实练、实打、实用为一体的拳法,经过几代人的传承,六合螳螂拳不但具有攻防技击性,而且具有健身观赏性和娱乐性。而六合螳螂拳的最重要特点就是它的攻防技击性。
