Microalgae is one of the promising biodiesel resources, which possesses some merits, for example, higher photosynthesis rates, zero net carbon, shorter growth cycle, easy to feed, high content of oil, etc. Microalgae biodiesel has attracted a lot of attention based on the couple of utilization of microalgae and its fixation of CO 2. The literature of the filtration, cultivation and the reactor development of the microalgae technology, and the microalgae utilization technology were reviewed. Finally, perspectives of the microalgae biodiesel technique were also discussed.
