《虬髯客传》之主要人物、故事背景和情节设计都与唐初河东道历史文化有着密切联系，其选择李靖为侠客兼开国功臣的角色，与李靖在河东道的历史活动和民间影响有直接关联。灵石作为初唐开国著名战争的发生地，在李靖与虬髯客旅店邂逅情境中起着重要的气氛烘托功能。虬髯客邀请道士为李世民相面，有隋末李渊太原起兵时道教徒在舆论方面协助的历史基础，李世民相貌特征转嫁于虬髯客的艺术再创造，亦受到太原侠风之影响。

The main characters ,the background and plot design of Qiu Yan Ke Zhuan are closely related to the history and culture of Hedong area in the early Tang Dynasty .Li Jing is chosen as the role of the knight and the founding hero ,w hich directly correlates with his historical activities and influence on the people in Hedong area .As the very place where the famous founding war took place in the early Tang Dynasty ,Lingshi plays an important role in heightening the atmos-phere in the context of Li Jing’s encounter with Qiu Yan Ke in the hotel .Qiu Yan Ke invited Ta-oist priests to practise physiognomy for Li Shimin ,w hich involves the historical basis that w hen he revolted in Taiyuan in the late Sui Dynasty ,Li Yuan got Taoists’ assistance in public opinion . Besides ,the art re-creation of Li Shimin’s facial features on Qiu Yan Ke is also affected by the chivalrous trend in Taiyuan .
