As a new type of structural system, diagrid tu_bular structure is suitable for high - rise buildings with complex shapes. But this system has some different mechanical behaviors from conventional framed tube structural system. In this paper, typical models have been used to compare diagrid tubular struc_tural system and frame tube structural system, including gravity load and lateral load. The paper presents some critical structural issues that diagriad tubular strucutural system is used in high -rise building design. The conclusions can be refered to in some similar projects.
