本文分析了湛江市城市化质量的演变规律、障碍因素及其与城市化水平的协调性，发现1990-2010年湛江市城市化质量总体不高，虽在不断提升，但提升速度相对城市化水平增长速度慢，经济实力的增强、社会发展水平的提高、基础设施体系的完善和城市化效率的提高是城市化质量提升的主要动力；湛江市城市化质量主要障碍因素数量在增加，范围在扩大；湛江市城市化质量与城市化水平协调发展度稳步增加，协调发展水平由勉强协调上升为初级协调，城市化水平滞后较严重。
본문분석료담강시성시화질량적연변규률、장애인소급기여성시화수평적협조성，발현1990-2010년담강시성시화질량총체불고，수재불단제승，단제승속도상대성시화수평증장속도만，경제실력적증강、사회발전수평적제고、기출설시체계적완선화성시화효솔적제고시성시화질량제승적주요동력；담강시성시화질량주요장애인소수량재증가，범위재확대；담강시성시화질량여성시화수평협조발전도은보증가，협조발전수평유면강협조상승위초급협조，성시화수평체후교엄중。
The paper analyzed the change and the obstacle factors of urbanization quality, the coordination between urbanization quality and urbanization level in Zhanjiang city. As the results shown, during 1990-2010 the urbanization quality of Zhanjiang city was not high on the whole. It gradually increased at a lower pace than the urbanization level which was caused by economic strength, social development, infrastructure improvement and urbanization efficiency enhancement. An increase in number and an expansion in scale were found in the main obstacle factors of urbanization quality in Zhanjiang city. The coordinated development degree between urbanization quality and urbanization level in Zhanjiang city steadily increased, and the coordination level was lifted from farfetched coordination to elementary coordination, while the urbanization level was seriously lag.
