With the GIS equipment discharge failure of the 220 kV substation line spacing in Village Liang as an exam-ple,the paper analyzed the causesof the failure,discussed the possible ways to eliminate the equipment defects,and proposed some technical precautions against GIS equipment discharge failure so as to avoid the recurrence of similar failures.
