The coating quality caused by body structural defects can be eliminated or reduced by analyzing painting process. The structure which affected body painting pretreatment and electrophoretic quality was analyzed based on drainage. In particular, common drainage cases were discussed in such structures as doors, engine hood and trunk lid as well as underbody assembly, and the optimized solution was proposed.
