This paper mainly introduces the digital electro-hydraulic ( DEH) system and coordinated control sys-tem in primary frequency control of thermal power plant. By modeling the coordinated control system under boiler following turbine mode in Matlab/simulink, the frequency changes of primary frequency regulation are simulated when grid side load increases suddenly. The simulation results show that generator mechanical power will increase after steam turbine valve responses within the time limit and the steam valve opens in primary frequency regulation. And in 5 seconds, rotating speed and electromagnetic power tend to be stable. The results of this primary frequency regulation simulation study meet the needs of the load to the frequency, verify the accuracy of simulation model, and foreshadow for follow-up study.
