美国研究生教育在世界教育行业中占有重要地位，它从19世纪开始至今已经形成了一套完善的培养制度。论文从其录取政策、培养目标、培养机制、考核办法和质量评估体系等方面进行了较为详细的分析，并针对我国研究生教育现状提出了一些启示。

The U.S. post-graduate education plays an important role in the world. It has gradually formed a set of perfect training system from the beginning of the 19th century. This paper reports the priorities of American postgraduate education in enrollment policy, training objectives, training process, testing methods and quality assessment. Some enlightenment is provided for China postgraduate education.
