The teaching of the chemical properties of halohydrocarbon is both the focus and the difficulty in the chapters concerned. With the basic concepts clarified, the elaboration of the two reactions and influential elements can make students easily accessible to the teaching difficulties. With the design of α-C on an imagined plane, the elaboration of the mechanism of the two reactions can promote students’ understanding and mastery of the mechanism of nucleophilic substitution and elimination reaction.
