鄂尔多斯盆地中部的白于山呈东西向展布，横亘于陕西北部，属黄土低中山。通过水动力场、水化学场和同位素场分析，白于山是无定河与洛河地表分水岭，也是第四系松散层和白垩系环河组地下水分水岭，而不是深层（埋深较大）的白垩系洛河组地下水分水岭。洛河组地下水分水岭在白于山北侧4km～17km。由于白垩系洛河组地下水分水岭的北移，为白垩系洛河组地下水的合理开发利用提供了依据。
악이다사분지중부적백우산정동서향전포，횡긍우협서북부，속황토저중산。통과수동력장、수화학장화동위소장분석，백우산시무정하여락하지표분수령，야시제사계송산층화백성계배하조지하수분수령，이불시심층（매심교대）적백성계락하조지하수분수령。락하조지하수분수령재백우산북측4km～17km。유우백성계락하조지하수분수령적북이，위백성계락하조지하수적합리개발이용제공료의거。
Baiyu Mountain lies in central part of the 0rdos Basin at east-west" direction, spanning the north of Shaanxi Province and belonging tO low-medium loess hills. Based on field analysis of hy-drodynamic force, hydrochemistry and isotope, Baiyu Mountain is a watershed in between the Wuding River and the Luohe River onthe surface, and also an underground watershed between the Qua-ternary loosed beds and the Cretaceous Huanhe Formation, which is not an underground watershed of deep buried Cretaceous'Luohe Formation. The underground watershed of the Luohe Formation is 4 km - 17 km north to Baiyu Mountain, which would be favorable for further development of under- ground water from the Cretaceous Luohe Formation.
