reaction parameters affecting DS in carboxymethylation of inulin were studied, including the alkalization time, the amount of added alkali, Etherification time and etherification temperature. The optimum reaction conditions were obtained: alkalization time 30 min, the amount of added alkali 7.4 g, etherification temperature 55 ℃ and etherification time 4 h.
