促进者、培训者、咨询者和教材开发者是学生期待的教师最重要角色;要有效地促进学生的自主学习,教师作为促进者要多给学生支持和鼓励,作为培训者要注重学生学习方法和策略的训练,作为咨询者要做好答疑解难和多给学生提供建设性建议,作为教材开发者要认真编写满足学生不同需求的教材。

Promoters, trainers, consultants and teaching material developers are the most important roles the students expect of their teachers. In order to promote learner autonomy, as promoters teachers should give students more support and encouragement, as trainers teachers should pay more attention to students' method and strategy training, as consultants teachers should answer questions, solve problems from students and provide constructive suggestions, and as teaching material developers teachers should write books to meet students' various needs.
