In the process of Wen Yiduo' s study of The Songs of Chu, some sort of "weird conclusions" have been drawn owing to his special professional back-ground, life experiences, thinking modes and research methods, which was laughed at by some traditional scholars. For example, he concluded that Qu Yuan died before King Chu-huai entered Qin, Qu Yuan was a literary jester and Qu Yuan was the people' s poet. However, it is the study of The Songs of Chu that most prominently demonstrated Wen Yiduo' s individuality and originality in his academic research.
