ZHANG Da-qian has been considered the master of Chinese painting in 20th century. The family tradition of a- doring poems and rites, hardworking and honesty, education from his capable and wise parents and help from his brothers or sisters like ZHANG Shan-ma, ZHANG Zheng-heng and ZHANG Wen-xiu in arts and Chinese studies, all these exerted great influence on ZHANG's achievements in painting and calligraphy.
