A new type of high efficiency mercury removing device and the related mercury removing process were introduced. The average mercury removing rate of this device could reach 80% when it was applied in the removal of gas phase mercury in production of vinyl chloride by calcium carbide method, and its pressure drop was lower 50% than that of traditional mercury removing device.
