The implementation process for the course of hardware description language with the comparative teaching method has been introduced. And the specific measures have been described detailed about the preparation before class, the theory teaching, the experimental teaching,and the summarizing after class according to an example of the design of 32 ×32--bit fixed--point multiplier. The practice shows that,comparative teaching is more helpful to enable the students to learn how to positive think and grasp the advantages and disadvantages of different methods and the applicable situation, and therefore it significantly enhances the teaching effect.
