This paper introduces the operation and maintenance and management needs. On the basis of large-scale network traffic measurement and knowledge mining, it studies a new generation of broadband network management structure based on distributed traffic measurement. It uses passive measurement and active acquisition techniques to achieve high-speed network performance, status and behavior management. The network measurement technology development and current situation, system architecture, key technologies and applications are described in detail, and a dear goal of future research work is proposed.
