人文社会科学是人文科学和社会科学的总称，是以人类的精神世界及其沉淀的精神文化为对象的科学，以揭示人的本质和研究并阐述各种社会现象及其发展规律。伦敦是举世瞩目的世界大都市，曾几何时，伦敦几经此起彼伏之后，于20世纪七、八十年代陷入颓势边缘，城市转型任务艰巨。通过文献梳理概述了伦敦人文社会科学，分析其特征及其在引领城市转型方面的一些主要做法，由此获得一些启示。这无疑对我国在城镇化进程中加快城市转型具有较强的借鉴意义。

Humanities and social sciences are the sciences whose objects are the precipitation as the object of scientific culture, the human spirit and the spirit of the world, it’s also the science to reveal the nature and the study of human and to explain the phenomena and laws of social development. London, a world-renowned metropolis, after ups and downs for several times, in the 1970s, almost declined in the 1970s and in the 1980s, urban transformation task became arduous. the paper, based on literature review, provides an overview of humanities and social sciences in London, analyzes its characteristics and some of the main aspects of the practice of how humanities and social sciences once led urban transformation, and thus sums up some inspiration. This undoubtedly has a strong reference to China for accelerating the transformation of the city in the process of urbanization.
