The report of the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC put forward "the promotion of the connotative development of higher education", which has undoubtedly pointed out the di-rection of higher education. With the connotative development of higher education as the breakthrough point, this paper analyzed the problems of the ideological and political education of contem-porary university students and guided university ideological edu-cation by the advanced ideology of connotative development.
