The paper makes a brief intr oduction to the structure type design,the stability and stress calculations on the longitudinal concrete cofferdam of Bagong Hydropower Extension Project. A gravity-type C15 plain concrete cof-ferdam is adopted for the project due to its low water-retaining head,which not only reduces the project cost,but also facilitates the construction and speeds up construction progress,which is conductive to an earlier power generation of the project.
