In combination with the practical experience in operation and maintenance of electric power com-munication facilities, this paper introduces key points in inspection of overvoltage protection devices in elec-tric power communication facilities; it analyzes common overvoltage protection problems in electric power communication facilities such as the influence of surge protector lead wire on overvoltage , grounding and e-quipotential connection in detail and discusses real time monitoring probability of SPD operative mode.
