认知语言学家对隐喻的研究证实了隐喻对人类认知的广泛影响，以时间为目标域的隐喻更是在日常生活和文学作品中无处不在。根据始源概念域的不同，隐喻可分为方位性隐喻、结构性隐喻、本体性隐喻三类。对英语和汉语中的时间隐喻进行对比分析，可以从这三个角度出发，比较其始源概念域的异同。
認知語言學傢對隱喻的研究證實瞭隱喻對人類認知的廣汎影響，以時間為目標域的隱喻更是在日常生活和文學作品中無處不在。根據始源概唸域的不同，隱喻可分為方位性隱喻、結構性隱喻、本體性隱喻三類。對英語和漢語中的時間隱喻進行對比分析，可以從這三箇角度齣髮，比較其始源概唸域的異同。
인지어언학가대은유적연구증실료은유대인류인지적엄범영향，이시간위목표역적은유경시재일상생활화문학작품중무처불재。근거시원개념역적불동，은유가분위방위성은유、결구성은유、본체성은유삼류。대영어화한어중적시간은유진행대비분석，가이종저삼개각도출발，비교기시원개념역적이동。
Researches in metaphor that have done by cognitive linguists verified the extensive influence of metaphor on our per-ception towards the world. And temporal metaphors are also pervasive both in our daily life and in literary works. According to the difference of metaphors’source domain, they can be divided into three categories:Orientational Metaphors, Structural Meta-phors and Ontological Metaphors. A contrastive study of temporal metaphors in English and Chinese can be done from these three aspects, and the diversities and similarities in the source domain of temporal metaphors will be explored.
