Liangyou 842, a new two-line late hybrid rice combination, derived from the cross of a good quality sterile line 86315S and a restorer line Wanghui 842, was developed by Fujian Wangsui Seed Co. Ltd., and was released by Fujian province in 2011. It was grown and demonstrated in early and late rice at Longhai city, showing good quality, moderate growth duration, medium plant type, good plant and leaf morphology, large spikelet and more grains, and high yield. Its characteristics and key high-yielding cultivation techniques at Longhai city were introduced.
