Wandao 153, a two-line mid-season hybrid rice combination, derived from the cross of a female parent 1892S and a male parent RH003, was developed by Rice Research Institute of Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and was released by the nation in 2008. It exhibited the characteristics of high and stable yield, resistant lodging, and wide adaptability. Its demonstrating results and direct seeding cultivation techniques were summarized.
