Obama’s bow in Japan triggers hot discussion. The news agency AFP and AP both report the issue. This paper focuses on the comparison of the two news reports about the same issue in lexical, syntactical and semantic level through textual analysis. Different styles are chosen by different news agencies and journalists in particular to construct social reality from their particular perspective. Study on the different styles used in the news report can help us hold a more objective view towards the news.
