辅导员是高校开展大学生思想政治教育、从事德育工作的重要力量，是大学生健康成长的指导者和引路人。辅导员的工作具有角色定位的多样性以及工作性质独立性与协调性、工作对象全体性和个体性、工作态度责任性与榜样性相结合的特点。辅导员队伍在现实中面临一系列的现实困境，诸如工作强度大、难度高、压力大；在培训、职称晋升等多方面存在实际困难，队伍的非专业化影响了整体素质的提高，多头管理导致职责模糊等。为此，应从实际出发，规范辅导员选拔程序，加强培训，拓展发展空间等，有针对性地解决辅导员队伍发展中存在的问题，促进其科学发展。
