Over the past two decades, College English Test (CET4 and CET6)has devebped from the traditional paper-based test to the present computer-based test. Based on the review of the development of CET4 and CET 6, their differences and similarities, as well as advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. The impact the change has exerted on the development and trend in terms of foreign College language teaching and learning is discussed, and some strategies are put forward to improve English teaching and learning.
