在代数方程求解史上有很多的代数学家都做出了重要的贡献,其中法国的代数学家拉格朗日对代数方程求解做出的贡献是非常杰出的。他总结了前人的工作得出了辅助方程的理论,并由此提出用置换的思想进行代数方程求解;这种方法是史无前例的,他彻底改变了代数方程求解的内涵。拉格朗日又将置换的思想用于实践顺利的解答了低次方程,对于高次方程他又给出了降次的方法,这种思想指引着以后的代数学家继续努力,使得代数方程求解取得最终的胜利,并促进了代数学的新生。

Many algebraists have made great contributions to the solution of algebraic equation,of whom French algebraist Lagrange played a tremendous part.He summed up his predecessors’work and obtained the theory of auxiliary equation,by which he came up with the idea of using permutation to solve algebraic equations.with an unprecedented approach,he totally changed the content of solving algebraic equations.Lagrange also put permutation theory in to practice and successfully solve lower degree equations and provided a method to higher degree equations which was to lower its degree.Guided by this idea,the following algebraists kept trying and finally accomplished the solution of algebraic equation and promoted the new birth of algebra.
