Learners' autonomy is of crucial importance in taskbased language teaching.The present article is a survey on the cultivation and promotion of self-regulated learning based on the task-based approach in English and American Literature course.It is suggested that triggering and maintaining the interest and passion of students is always a top priority,which the students should be equipped with close reading learning strategies and the proper evaluation to learners' autonomy should be employed to manage and supervise the learning process.
