In Song Dynasty,it was very fashionable to sort out ancient books and people from the emperors down to the general literati were keen on literature search,collection,sorting,compila-tion,collation,and inscription.With the rapid development of literature,textual criticism in Song Dynasty already became an independent learning.The prefaces and postscripts to Tang Poet-ry written in Song Dynasty provide the research on textual criticism with abundant and reliable literature, and the competency,methods and principles in them reflect the quality of the collated works.
