2009年，吉林地区先后发生伊通ML 4．7和靖宇县ML 5．0两次中等地震，是吉林省有记录以来地震强度较大、频次较高的一年。从震区地质构造背景、震源机制解、东北地区地震活动特征等几方面进行分析，表明未来一段时间东北地区有发生同等强度以及更大地震的可能。

Two moderately strong earthquakes, the Yitong earthquake of ME4.7 and the Jingyu earthquake of ML5.0, occurred in Jilin region in 2009, which is the year with rather strong intensity and high frequency in Jilin Province after modem recording. Analysis on the aspects of geological tectonic background in earthquake area, focal mechanism solution and seismicity characteristic in northeast China is made. It indicates that the equal or greater earthquake may occur in northeast China in the years to come.
