“可以而不可使”是荀子在《性恶》篇中回答“圣可积而至”然而却“皆不可积”的“自难”时所提出的一个著名命题。对于此一命题学者虽有各种不同的诠释，但显然尚有很大的意义空间。本文即试图在文本分析的基础上，结合荀子思想之总体特征对此进行进一步的阐发，以期更全面地了解荀子的相关观念。
“가이이불가사”시순자재《성악》편중회답“골가적이지”연이각“개불가적”적“자난”시소제출적일개저명명제。대우차일명제학자수유각충불동적전석，단현연상유흔대적의의공간。본문즉시도재문본분석적기출상，결합순자사상지총체특정대차진행진일보적천발，이기경전면지료해순자적상관관념。
"How is it possible for the sage to reach this high state through his accumulated effort, but the rest of mankind cannot?" Xunzi reply: "although it is possible for them to do so, they cannot be induced to do so". This is the famous statement that Xunzi puts forward in" Man's Nature is Evil". Although many scholars have had different interpretations to the statement, it will however also have the need for further inquiry. This eassy, based on the text analysis and integrating with the generally feature of Xunzi's thought, try to make a further elucidating to the statement in order to supply a comprehensive understanding of related opinions of Xunzi's thought.
