梁启超是我国近代史上著名的思想家、政治家、文学家、翻译家，由于身处历史转折时期，他的一切活动都离不开政治，他将翻译视为一种宣教启蒙的工具，旨在以西方思想来启迪中国民众的智慧，从而达到强国的目的。梁氏这种借翻译以“新民”的思想指导着他的翻译理论与实践并对当时社会产生了巨大影响。

Liang Qichao is a famous thinker, politician, writer and translator in the modem history of China. As he lived in the historical turning period, none of his activities is free from the political environment. He regarded translation as a tool of preaching and teaching, with the hope of enlightening the wisdom of Chinese people by the western thought, and finally to realize the dream of a strong country. Liang's thought of innovating people by translating guided his translation theories and practices which had a great impact on the society then.
