The present situation and problems of the development of the initial processing of agricultural products in China are analyzed. Based on the successful experience of the initial processing of agricultural products in developed countries, and the goal and task of China's agricultural products processing development during the“12th Five-Year Plan” period, some countermeasures and suggestions to accelerate the development of the initial processing of agricultural products in China are put forward.
