With the emergence and wide application of total station and GPS technology, modern mapping technology instead of conventional measuring methods in highway measurement become possible. In highway measurement, the simple use of total station or GPS measurement has many problems, such as the visibility problem of total station, insufficient number of satellites for GPS measurement. So the application of GPS with total station in highway measurement will solve many problems.
