质子泵抑制剂是一种抑制胃酸分泌的药物,但临床回顾性研究发现,在糖尿病患者中,降糖药联合质子泵抑制剂治疗可明显降低血糖和糖化血红蛋白水平.动物试验也发现质子泵抑制剂能够降低糖尿病动物模型的血糖,其机制可能与质子泵抑制剂升高胃泌素水平、延缓胃排空以及生长抑素的分泌增加有关.
