Based on the brief introduction of the microwave heating mechanism and advantage , the re-search results and progress of microwave heating technology in the iron ore pretreatment , carbon ther-mal reduction , temperature characteristics of metallurgical materials , waste gas treatment , steelmaking slag processing and other fields were summarized .Microwave is regarded having a great application prospect in the metallurgical industry .
