The causes for the transverse cracking of 14MnMoV steel thick wall vessel were analyzed ,and the related process im-proving measure in accordance with the formation mechanism of hydrogen induced delayed crack was puts forward ,thus the effec-tiveness of postweld dehydrogenation was verified .
