Along with social progress, informationalized and intelligent buildings emerge in large numbers and the traditional manual meter reading is going to be eliminated. According to the characteristics of gas meter, this article discusses the feasibility of constructing remote intelligent meter reading system relying on advanced technology, reliable engineering and reasonable cost. The construction frame of the intelligent meter reading system is provided according to different residence types.
