The operation of the 20000 m3/h air separation plant of Masteel was much affected by high liquid level of liquid-air in the lower tower due to lack of operation of lean Kr/Xe tower. Stable operation was ensured through technical transformation of liquid-air tubes of the rectification tower. Problems in the liquid-air tubes of the rectification tower of Mas-teel’s 20000 m3/h air separation plant are introduced, causes of the problems are analyzed and concrete measures in the technical transformation and their effects are also presented.
