This paper analyzed the characteristics of the case teaching and the traditional teaching method. Through the analysis of the role of case teaching in cultivating students' innovative consciousness and innovative ability, improving students' abilities of analyzing and solving problems and the ability of integrated use of knowledge. This paper inquires into the conception of case teaching method in mathematics teaching of independent college.
