2012年4月至12月间，采用固定样带法和样点法对西洞庭湖自然保护区内鸟类进行日常样线监测，共记录到西洞庭湖自然保护区鸟类153种，其中新纪录14种。随着保护管理工作的不断深入，保护区内生态环境也在逐渐改善，这可能导致了保护区鸟类纪录的增加。

Using the fixed sample-strip and sampleFspot methods,153 species of birds were seen in the West Dongting Lake Nature Reserve by regular line-intercept monitor during April to October in 2012,among which there were 14 new records to the reserve. With the deepening of the protection and management of the region,the environment gradually im-proved,which may lead to an increase of bird records in this reserve.
