This paper provides theoretical calculations and experiments to test the performances of R32, R410A and R22 in heat pump water heaters. The results show that under the same working condition, the heat-ing capacity of R32 is about 9. 4% higher than that of R22;temperature rise of water circle in R32 prototype in-creases 0. 3℃ than that of R22. In a word, R32 is a promising alternative to R22 in heat pump water heater.
