Investigation of the natural building materials is a very important basic work in the water conservancy and hy-dropower project construction. Combining with the design scheme closely, doing a good job of investigation according to cir-cumstances, finding out all kinds of natural building materials needed for the project,including the reserves, quality, condi-tions of mining and transport, providing the basis for engineering planning , design and construction scheme, all of them are primary mission for the investigation of natural building materials. Large engineering practices have proved that ignoring the investigation of the natural building materials will cause significant losses to engineering construction. Therefore, providing nat-ural building materials reasonably plays an important role in speeding up the engineering construction and reducing the project cost.
