Excessive carbon dioxide in the molecular sieve purification system of air separation plant seriously affects the long-term safe and stable operation of the equipment, as gradually deposition of frozen water and carbon dioxide to the expander, low temperature heat exchanger, rectifying tower, valves and piping can cause blocking inside the cold box affecting normal operation or even push the acetylene and hydrocarbons inside the cold box to exces-sive levels causing explosion and other accidents. In practice, seriously and accurately analyz-ing and learning lessons from experiences of such accidents while drawing up prevention and control measures is an effective way to avoid similar accidents happening again.
